I will show you step by step how to repair a large star cracked windshield. You will see how hydraulic pressure and vacuum really works. From putting the tools on the windshield to scraping off the residue afterwords. This is the real deal! Check out what you need and how to use it in this repair video.

These Are The Steps We Use to repair a 3 Inch Star Chip with 6 Cracks

Lube up the suction cup: We use  Windex (if you don't put lube on the suction cup it could fall off during the repair process) Put 2 drops of resin in plunger: Were Using LR White/Cap Resin (its a strong all around resin) Mount suction cup to windshield: You have to bend and push the cup against the windshield to get a good hold. Adjust pump tip to damaged area: Center the tip of the pump over the repair area so no resin will leak out. Tighten pump to windshield: You need a snug fit just enough so resin doesn't leak out. But be aware over tightening could cause damage to run. Get resin flowing: Pull up and down on pump til resin drops to the glass. Just watch closely when you see the center clear up you'll know it. Use pressure to fill cracks: Push down on pump and pressurization starts. Now use vacuum to pull air out of the cracks ends: Air becomes trapped at the end of the line cracks, by using vacuum the air can be removed. Pressure to fill cracks, quick vacuum cycle, pressurize again, vacuum all remaining air and  pressurize area one more time. Flex cracks with probe to finish filling all end points. Apply UV lamp wait a few minutes. Now remove UV lamp,  tools from auto glass and wipe off the residue. Fill pit area & place tab (make sure there is no bubbles) and then cure it with a UV Light. After a few minutes inspect tab to visualize the resins hardness. Now check over the pit area to see if acrylic has cured. When acrylic resin sets (repair it's ready). Remove UV light, tab, spray Windex and use a razor blade to scrape off the excess resins until you have a cleaned the windshield completely.
